Turtles All the Way Down by John Green My rating: 4 of 5 stars   (or more of a 3.5 shhh) "But you give your thoughts too much power, Aza. Thoughts are only thoughts. They are not you. You do belong to yourself, even when your thoughts don't" My hopes for this book weren't (at all) high and well, this really didn't amazed me that much but it was a good read; what really got to me was the anxiety rep. So here we have Aza, who's our main character and is going through life with OCD and anxiety and suddenly she finds herself with her bestfriend trying to solve a mystery of a person dissapearing and she reconnects with a guy from her past, and really sums up the book. Something I got to point out was the "mystery", I kind of enjoy John Green's books but I think he repeated himself here and went for the same thing as in "Paper Towns" and that did not set well with me, I'm just tired of that narrative; honestly the ...

It's kind of a funny story review

It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini My rating: 3 of 5 stars This one was definetly a let down and that breaks my heart; I really wanted to love this book, because mental illness should be something we talk about more, we have to be consious of how many people struggle with some type of mental illness and we really have to start undestranding them, and for me this book would be a good starter for the conversation but it really wasn't. I first met this story when I watched the movie about 6 years ago when I was just diagnosed with depression and anxiety, and honestly it was my favorite, like I would recommend it to everybody and I felt really represented through Craig's thoughts but now that i've read the book some time after, it really didn't do it for me. It was not a total waste of a read, I kinda enjoyed it, well some parts, for starters Ned Vizzini had depression and anxiety, and you really can feel those types of thoughts and feeling thro...

Well hello there, i'm back! (well kinda) I know i've been gone for so long BUT just a few days ago I read a poetry collection called "The Last Time I'll Write About You" by Dawn Lanuza and omg, it's beautiful you guys. The Last Time I'll Write About You by Dawn Lanuza My rating: 4 of 5 stars It has been so long since I read a poetry collection where I liked almost every poem, now I'm not saying every poem it's perfect but the majority of them really hit home and for a (debut) poetry collection to be that candid is something you don't come across often, "The Last Time I'll Write About You" really gets you from the title and never lets you go until you finish it. Dawn writes in such a way that takes me back to my past relationships, and she puts the feelings I had into such beautiful words; she goes straight to the point and doesn't come across as trying too hard to be profund, that's something that makes me lov...

The Melody of You and Me Review!!

The Melody of You and Me by M. Hollis My rating: 3.75 of 5 stars wElp, idk... I really wanted to love this book but it was just enjoyable not amazing. "The Melody of You and Me"  it's the story of Chris, who just left university and broke up with her 3 year long girlfriend so her life is a bit of a mess right now. The story begins when she meets Josie, a new co-worker in her bookstore and from there it develpos into a fluffy contemporary.  I really loved the representation in this book; we have a pansexual MC in a f/f relation! <3 The thing I had with this is that it was soooo insta-lovy like, wow, Chris and Josie fall in love so quick that I found it kind of unreal, at the end every problem in Chris' life were resolved and that was a bit off for me. The writing was also a bit of a struggle for me bUT the way the author explores some topics like masturbation or not knowing what to do when picking a major, etc. was sO PERFECT! I could a 100% relate t...
