It's kind of a funny story review

It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini My rating: 3 of 5 stars This one was definetly a let down and that breaks my heart; I really wanted to love this book, because mental illness should be something we talk about more, we have to be consious of how many people struggle with some type of mental illness and we really have to start undestranding them, and for me this book would be a good starter for the conversation but it really wasn't. I first met this story when I watched the movie about 6 years ago when I was just diagnosed with depression and anxiety, and honestly it was my favorite, like I would recommend it to everybody and I felt really represented through Craig's thoughts but now that i've read the book some time after, it really didn't do it for me. It was not a total waste of a read, I kinda enjoyed it, well some parts, for starters Ned Vizzini had depression and anxiety, and you really can feel those types of thoughts and feeling thro...

The Melody of You and Me Review!!

Imagen
The Melody of You and Me by M. Hollis My rating: 3.75 of 5 stars wElp, idk... I really wanted to love this book but it was just enjoyable not amazing. "The Melody of You and Me"  it's the story of Chris, who just left university and broke up with her 3 year long girlfriend so her life is a bit of a mess right now. The story begins when she meets Josie, a new co-worker in her bookstore and from there it develpos into a fluffy contemporary.  I really loved the representation in this book; we have a pansexual MC in a f/f relation! <3 The thing I had with this is that it was soooo insta-lovy like, wow, Chris and Josie fall in love so quick that I found it kind of unreal, at the end every problem in Chris' life were resolved and that was a bit off for me. The writing was also a bit of a struggle for me bUT the way the author explores some topics like masturbation or not knowing what to do when picking a major, etc. was sO PERFECT! I could a 100% relate t...

June TBR!

Imagen
June TBR. Well hello there! Here are the books I'm hoping to read in June, I made my TBR a bit short (5 books) as I'm feeling a slump coming but don't want to stop reading so I had a variety of books to see which would be better. Series Summer. During summer Jacqueline @ Jbooklover in booktube is doing a kind of read-a-thon, basically is just to read some series during the summer, it's called #SeriesSummer . Here are some of the challenges I'll be attempting to complete: Read popular series that you have never read before:  Throne of Glass Read unpopular or underrated series:  The Ersatz Elevator Read a series that you have had on your TBR shelf for over a year: Any of the mention ones lol Read a series in which the final book just came out or will be coming out Summer 2017: - Reread a Series:  Harry Potter Read a Duology: -  Read a series that you started but never completed:  The Mark of Athena Read-a-thons. So as I ...

#AtoZreadathon TBR

So I would add this TBR to my May TBR but it would be an endless post so instead I'll be writting it here and linking it up there! #AtoZreadathon is a read-a-thon with 3 sets of difficulties; the first one (and most difficult) is where you read 26 books for the 26 letters of the alphabets only taking the title. The medium level (and the one I'll be attempting to complete) is where you can use a book for several letters as long as you "touch" all of the letters in the alphabet but, again, only counting the titles, and the easiest level is where you count the title and the author of the book! So withouth further to do here is my TBR: A,B: The Art of Being Human  by Lisa Williamson C,D,N: The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena E,M: El método 15/33 by Shannon Kirk  F: Fuera de mí by Sharon. M. Draper G,S: Given to the Sea by Mindy McGinnis H,O: Historia del futuro según Glory O'Brien by A. S. King I: Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff J...

April (not so cool) Wrap up!

So for April I had planned to read a lot of books but sadly that wasn't the case, so here is my mini wrap up for this month! I participated in #AYearAThon where the theme was "Classics", so I started reading "Lolita" but stopped about 100 pages in; the story was really boring and making me a bit uncomfortable so maybe I'll pick it up later. From April 7 to the 20th Tome Topple happened, for this readthon I finally finished "A Clash of Kings" by George R. R. Martin. I gave it 3 out of 5 starts (full review here). Also I started reading "Throne of Glass", I'm about 300 pages in! Other books I picked up this month were: Juliet takes a Breath, The Couple Next Door and Zac & Mia; I haven't finished any of those!  So here is for a better month to come!

TomeTopple TBR!

Imagen
From April 7th to the 20th TomeTopple is happening (yay!). I participated last time in this readathon and I really loved it! The goal is to read big books (+500 pages).  Also this time there are challenges, which are: Read more than one tome, read a graphic novel, read a tome that is part of a series, buddy read a tome and read an adult novel. To be honest I don't think I'll complete every challenge so without further to do, here is my TBR: Choque de Reyes Trono de Cristal The Mark of Athena Obviously I'll try to read the three books so that would check the "read more than one tome" challenge, also all of them can be used in the "read a tome that is part of a serie" and Clash of Kings fits into "read an adult novel".  My goal is to actually complete my TBR because in previous rounds I only read one tome (and maybe I start other) and I'm feeling a reading slump coming but here it's to trying! - - - - - - - - - - - -...

RYBSAT TBR

RYBSAT is a readathon where you choose one spot on your shelves and start reading from there, this year it's happening from March 27 to April 10!  I made my TBR from the stack of books I have near my bed, which is like my little shelf so here is my TBR! Trono de Cristal Yo soy Malala The Wide Window Nimona Red Queen Library of Souls Qué nos hace humanos *Some titles are in spanish because I'm reading those books in that language* Links: Goodreads group: The Reading RYBSATERS Twitter: #RYBSAT

A YEAR-A-THON TBR

A Year-a-thon it's a series of readathons that happen throughout the year each one with a theme. This month's theme is: "Classics" and it's happening from April 3 - 9. As there is so little time I'm making my TBR as short as possible so this time I'm planning to read, first, " Lolita " which it's gonna be my priority, and then if I have time I'm planning to read " A Clockwork Orange ".  Links: Goodreads group: #AYEARATHON Twitter: @AYearAThon
