Throne of Glass Review!

Trono de cristal (Throne of Glass, #1)

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Time for the unpopular opinion: I did not like this book... don't get me wrong, I didn't hate it but wow, I do not think it deserves the hype that it has.

Well, Throne of Glass is the story of Celaena Sardothien, the greatest killer in Endovier, who goes to a competition to be the next royal assassin, in return she'll gain her freedom.

Celaena is a character who is described as very good in what she does but I feel that througout the book all our characters do is describe her as perfect, in my opinion this makes her less relatable and you don't engage as well with the story. Apart from this I think the other characters Sarah J. Maas developes are great! (pls protect Chaol i love him so much, thank u).

Now, the story for me was too slow, so much that I put a "hold" on this book for about a month and only now I'm finishing it. I think the story is dragged for so long that we could have had a 250 pages book with the exact same story. Everything was super repetitive and predictable.

The writing is good, I don't think it's perfect (as I said she is very repetitive lol) and it's a bit childish in my opinion. Also as I was reading, I thought some things weren't right like the author had said something different or was incoherent with its prevoius ideas.

So to finish this review, I do think the book is over hyped and a part of me regrets reading it but I'll maybe check the other books because people say they get better and also Chaol <3.
