A lovely wrap up!

Get it? Because it was february, the month of love??? yeah?? ok, I'll leave. But YES! Here is my last month wrap-up, as always late <3

I read 8 books which seven of them could count towards my AYi52B challenge and 3 for the Pop Sugar Challenge. So let's start!

The first book I read was "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold, here we have the story of Susie Salmon when she is murdered and how that affected her family; I gave this book two out of five stars and well you can see I didn't like it that much, being honest I liked the movie better lol.
Most of the time I wanted to quit this read, it was slow and pointless honestly, I liked when it would show the repercussions of Susie's death on the family, but since the book is narrated by Susie, when she talked about something else I was completly bored.

So yeah, wouldn't recommend the read.

Next I picked up "Hidden Figures" by Margot Lee Shetterly, and oppose to my previous read I loved this one, I gave it four out of five stars.

Here we learn more about the black women working and helping during the Cold War, more specifically the space race. Their stories aren't always told and this book was very inspiring and empowering. I do encourage you to pick this one up!

After that I read a poetry collection in spanish called "Lo que dejó tu adiós" which roughly  translates to -what your goodbye left-. And well I gave this 3 out of 5 stars, at first I thought this was going to be a new favorite for me but unfortunately the more I read it the more I started to dislike it. I could rate the first half with 5 stars but then the poems star to get a bit repetitive and there where some "macho" type poems and I hated those poems (like the author was possesive and there where times when it seemed like he was blaming his ex for not wanting kids).

Next up is the all-time favorite "Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda" by Becky Albertalli,
here we have the story of Simon who's gay but nobody knows; online he has this "relationship" with Blue but he doesn't know who he is. One day their emails get caught by the wrong person and Simon is being blackmailed.

I love this book, this story, this characters, everything. I love this, it is perfect. Ten out of 5 stars!!!

After that I picked another love story, this time one by the lovely Nicola Yoon and it was "The Sun is Also a Star", this is the story of Natasha, whose family is being deported that day so she is doing the impossible to keep her family in the US; and Daniel who has an important interview for college that day. They meet and this cute love story begins and ends, just in one day.

I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars because, really I was in a "omg i love cute stories so much" mood, I didn't care about the insta-love or other tropes really. The story is so well written that even I was a bit hurt at the end.

If you are looking for a cute, quick love story this is the book for you.

Then I read "The Little Mermaid", I don't have to explain this one right? I gave it 2.5 out of 5 stars and well, yeah, quick, kind of pointless read lol.

After that fairytale I re-read "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" by Jenny Han which I gave 3 stars but I have to say I would give it 2 if it wasn't for the soft spot I have in my heart for this book, it was one of the first I read when I started reading more and well, yeah. Is just a teenage romance but it's pretty "meh"

The last book I read was the perfect book for this month and one of my faves of this year "The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas, it was a great read, 5 out of 5. This is the story of Star, she's on a party but something happens and she ends up leaving with a friend when suddenly they are pull up and a cop murders him; is the story of how she has to come to terms with his death and the impact that she has being the only witness. Honestly I can't recommend this enough, READ IT NOW.

And welp, that's my wrap-up guys, see you next month! (;
